CTV Integration Guide
Kochava x Smadex
This guide outlines the steps for marketers to successfully create and integrate their Connected TV (CTV) campaigns within Kochava using Smadex. It is fundamental to follow these steps in order to be able to correctly track installs in your Smadex CTV campaign, as CTV installs are based on cross-platform attribution by Kochava.
Step 1: Create an impression pixel in Kochava
To track Smadex CTV traffic, you will use the Campaign Manager:
- Navigate to Engagement > Campaign Manager.
- Click + Add a Tracker.
- Tracker Type: Select Acquisition (for new installs) or Reengagement (to drive users back to a streaming app).
- Media Partner: Select Smadex.
- Integration Settings: Under the App Tools section, ensure your app is configured to support the specific CTV platforms (e.g., Roku, Amazon Fire TV, or Android TV)
- Be sure to set the Impression Lookback IP to at least 24 hours
Step 2: Testing, Validation & Troubleshooting
- Share your Impression attribution link with Smadex. Smadex will perform a test install to confirm everything is in place with the agreed creatives to post.
- In case the test install is not successful, either the initial integration is not correct, or any step of this guide was not applied correctly. Review all the steps and make sure it’s all in place. Review Over the Top TV and Connected TV, Campaign Management, and following links.
