CTV Integration Guide
Adjust x Smadex
This guide outlines the steps for marketers to successfully create and integrate their Connected TV (CTV) campaigns within Adjust using Smadex. It is fundamental to follow these steps in order to be able to correctly track installs in your Smadex CTV campaign, as CTV installs are based on cross-platform attribution by Adjust.
Step 1: Create a cross-device link in Adjust
- Select Campaign Lab > + New Partner.
- Select Smadex from the list.
- Choose the app you want to create the link for.
- Under Set your link use case, select Cross-device link. Then, enter a name for your link.
- Update the link’s campaign structure parameters.

It should look something like:

Note: the same link can be used for iOS and Android.
6. Customize the attribution window for your cross-device link. The minimum recommended is 24h.

7. If you have the CTV AdVision solution enabled, you will be able to set one of the three custom waterfalls models that Adjust offers:

- Custom waterfall 1: CTV impressions priority lies between Clicks and Impressions. A CTV impression will lose against both deterministic and probabilistic clicks, but will win against a Mobile impression.
- Custom waterfall 2: CTV impressions win against all other touches, including all clicks and all Mobile impressions.
- Custom waterfall 3: similar to custom waterfall 1, but including extra granularity with Apple and Google Search – CTV will lose against both types of clicks, but will win against both Mobile impressions and Apple/Google Search clicks.
To enable those configurations, you will need to contact your Adjust sales POC to get more details and enable this feature on their accounts
8. Review your link settings and select Create link.
9. Repeat the process for any other app you may have installed.
Step 2: Testing, Validation & Troubleshooting
1. Share your Impression attribution Link with Smadex. Smadex will perform a test install to confirm everything is in place. With the agreed creatives to post
2. In case the test install is not successful, either the initial integration is not correct, or any step of this guide was not applied correctly. Review all the steps and make sure it’s all in place. You can also check this Adjust article to know how to create links.
