  • What is retargeting on mobile?

    Retargeting on mobile has slightly different use cases to online. It is based on device IDs in the absence of reliable cookies and the fact that cookies do not work with apps. Marketing campaigns using retargeting have been driven by a range of custom user events linked to a sales funnel.

    How does retargeting work?

    After having decided on the custom events for a campaign, device IDs are used for displaying ads to users who match (positive retargeting) or do not match (negative retargeting) the device IDs. Smadex then executes the campaign across all exchanges to maximise reaching as many device ID matches as possible.

  • What is real-time bidding?

    Real-time bidding for mobile is a relatively new approach of buying and selling display advertising mobile inventory in real-time, one impression at a time. It eliminates the inefficiencies , manual processes and lack of trust of previous display advertising models. The majority of inventory available programmatically on mobile today is traded on open auctions purchases via mobile Demand Side Platforms like Smadex. Some of the benefits of the real-time bidding approach include:

     

    Cost efficiencies: Every impression is valued individually based on a number of factors versus buying impressions at bulk and treating all impressions as equal at a fixed price.

    We support the VAST video format. Campaigns will run on exchanges that support the VAST standard. All we need from advertisers and agencies are third party ad tags that are VAST 2.0 compliant.

    Filter your campaign by choosing from one or more countries.

  • Hyper-local

    Upload latitudinal and longitudinal coordinates or plot locations yourself and target down to 1km radius.

  • Device OS

    Restrict the OS platforms your campaigns run on including minimum OS versions. Only Android and iOS supported.

  • Choose Apps

    Choose where you want your campaigns to run by exchange or publisher. Create white lists or black lists.

  • Time-of-day

    Schedule your campaign to start and stop at different times of the day local to the country where the campaign is running.

  • Carrier & IP

    Restrict where campaigns land by WiFi or choose specific carriers by country.
